The Innovate Finance Global Summit 2016 took place on 11th April 2016. #IFGS2016 championed and celebrated the latest developments in FinTech at the historical heart of financial services: London. There was a series of day long sessions and key note addresses by high profile leaders and influencers. There was also bespoke workshops and roundtable discussions that provided insights into the challenges and opportunities within the banking sector. Check out the agenda for full details about the day.
WHAT ARE THE EXPERTS SAYING?
We reached out to some of the top 20 influencers to ask them for their views on the conference. We spoke to Spiros Margaris (#2) and Matteo Rizzi (#19). Be sure to follow them to stay up to date on the best content and resources on FinTech!
“The event organisation succeeded in not only bringing the business and innovation sides of the fintech industry to the stage, but also addressed important issues such as how we can help the unbanked and refugees. In my view, the greatest achievement of fintech will be the extent to which we can help these people. Our industry needs to work very closely together – and here I mean fintech participants, governments and regulators – to succeed in providing customers with a better banking experience. The Innovate Finance Global Summit 2016 did, and will continue to do, just that!”
“Innovate Finance was a fantastic event and what was so impressive for me coming from Canada as a speaker, was to see the UK government’s imbedded engagement and commitment to FinTech from every angle, from law to finance to optically supporting the sector. It set an example for other countries to follow. As a financial inclusion expert, I was happy to see so much coverage on financial inclusion make it on to the agenda of this key FinTech event.”
“With backing from UK Government and the leaders in FinTech across the UK, Innovate Finance is the main event for those wanting to know what the future of finance looks like from those creating it.”
“At Innovate Finance Global Summit 2015 I presented the idea of The FinTech Book – to crowdsource the best FinTech experts globally. Now a year later at #IFGS2016 our dream had become reality and we presented The FinTech Book which has reached the 6th place on Amazon’s bestseller list mid April. #IFGS2016 was a wonderful conference connecting FINTECH thought leaders!”
“Innovate Finance, on top of being extremely well executed, really well managed to bring the key stakeholders in the FinTech space, #IFGS2016 most importantly showcased and shared what makes London one of the most compelling places in the planet when it comes to enabling innovation in financial services.”
“Congratulations on a super event!”
“Many congratulations on putting on such an impressive show”
“The event of the year in alternative finance. No doubt about it. Congratulations to the whole team! Very proud to be a founding member!”

Disclaimer: As ever with these lists, it must be stressed that the ranking is by no means a definitive measurement of influence, as there is no such thing. The brands and individuals listed are undoubtedly influential when it comes to driving discussion during the Innovate Finance Global Summit 2016.
The PageRank based methodology we use to extract influencers on a particular topic takes into account the number and quality of contextual references that a user receives. These calculations are independent of a user’s number of followers, but we do filter our lists based on how much a user is engaged in the conversation and the influence they drive through their networks.
This report was not commissioned by Innovate Finance and was undertaken solely by Onalytica.
